Team Leader

• Dr. NI Zhenhua

      Dr. NI Zhenhua received his Bachelor’s degree in Physics and a second Bachelor’s degree in Applied Electrical Techniques from Shanghai Jiaotong University in 2003, Ph.D. degree in Physics from National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2007, and did his postdoctoral research in Department of Physics and Applied Physics at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) from 2007-2010. In 2009, he received the British Council “Researcher exchange programme Award” and worked as an academic visitor in Andre Geim’s research group in the University of Manchester.
      He has been a Professor in Physics Department at Southeast University since May, 2010.
      His current research interests include the fabrication, characterization, and optoelectronic application of graphene and other two dimensional materials.
      He has published more than 100 papers, including Nature Photonics, Nature Communications, Nano Letters, PRL, ACS Nano, and receiving over 17000 citations with H-index of 61. He is currently the Editorial Board Member of international peer-review journals “Scientific Reports”, and “Frontiers in Condensed Matter Physics”.

• Dr. Lu Junpeng

      Dr. Lu Junpeng, Professor of School of Physics, Southeast University. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Department of Optical Information Science and Technology of Shandong University in 2009 and received his Ph.D. degree from Department of Physics, National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2013. Then he engaged his research work as a Research Fellow in NUS from 2013 to 2017. After that, he joined School of Physics, Southeast University in 2017.
      His current research interests include: Laser micro/nano manufacturing/modification of low-dimensional materials; Micro/nano optoelectronics; Ultrafast Spectroscopy: Transient absorption spectroscopy & Time-resolved PL spectroscopy; THz time domain spectroscopy; THz metamaterials.
      He has published more than 30 papers (including 10 publications with IF>10; 20+ publications with 3)

• Dr. Jialin Zhang

      Dr. Jialin Zhang received her Bachelor's degree from Sichuan University in 2010 and her doctorate from the National University of Singapore in 2014. She was a postdoctoral fellow at the National University of Singapore from 2014 to 2020. She joined the School of Physics of Southeast University in December 2020.

      1. Atomic scale growth mechanism of low-dimensional functional materials
      2. Precise preparation and characterization and electronic structure control

• Dr. Tingting Yin

      Dr. Tingting Yin received her Bachelor's degree in Optical Information Science and Technology from Jilin University in 2013 and her doctorate in Physics and Applied Physics from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2018. She was a postdoctoral fellow at Nanyang Technological University from 2018 to 2022, and served as a Presidential Postdoctoral Fellow there from 2022 to 2025. She joined the School of Physics of Southeast University as a Professor in March 2025.
      Research:
      Research on Exciton Physics and Physical Property Regulation of New Semiconductor Materials. The optical properties dominated by excitons are mainly studied in depth through various spectral characterization methods, and the evolution mechanism under the regulation of external physical fields is systematically investigated.

• Dr. Qi Zhang

      Dr. Qi Zhang received his Bachelor's degree from Soochow University in 2014 and his doctorate from the National University of Singapore in 2019. He was a postdoctoral fellow at the National University of Singapore from 2019 to 2021. He joined Southeast University in July 2021.
  Research:
    1. Semiconductor optics:
      i. preparation of high quality single crystals by low temperature liquid phase method for semiconductor materials.
      ii. explore the basic physical properties of semiconductor excitons and their kinetic processes.
      iii. Single photon emission from lattice defects/quantum dots.
    2. Surface interface modification of semiconductor by plasma

• Dr. Zhao Bei

      Dr. Zhao Bei, Zhishan Scholar (Class A), Xiaomi Scholar. She received her doctorate from Hunan University in June 2021 under the supervision of Professor Xidong Duan. In November 2021, he worked at the School of Physics, Southeast University. She studied in Nature, Nat.Electron., Nat.Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Adv. Mater. He has published more than 30 papers in well-known academic journals. Among them, she published 1 Nature1, 1 J. Am. Chem. Soc., 1 Adv. Mater, 1 Adv. Funct. Mater, and 1 Nano Res. As the first author, she applied for 3 Chinese invention patents. The 27th Assembly of Advanced Materials Congress in Sweden and Finland was awarded "Best Poster Presentation". In 2021, she won the Bronze Award for Outstanding doctoral thesis in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials of Hunan Province.

• Dr. Xueyong Yuan

      Dr. Xueyong Yuan graduated from the Experimental Physics Group 1, University of Augsburg, Germany, in May 2019, worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Semiconductor Physics and Solid-State Physics, Johann Kepler University Linz, Austria, from June 2019 to August 2020, and joined the School of Physics, Southeast University in October 2020. During his doctoral degree, he was engaged in the research of quantum optical properties regulation based on high-quality epitaxial semiconductor quantum dots, and has many years of experience in ultra-clean micro-nano machining and optical platform construction measurement. He has participated in one project of the European Research Council (ERC), two projects of the Austrian Science Foundation (FWF), and one joint project of the German Science Foundation (DFG), and served as the Coordinator of this DFG project.

      1. High quality epitaxial semiconductor (GaAs) quantum dot single photon source and entangled light source

• Dr. Wenhui Wang

      Dr. Wenhui Wang received his doctorate from Southeast University in 2017. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Southeast University from 2018 to 2023, and taught as an associate researcher in 2023.

      Dr. Dongyang Wan received his doctorate from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2016. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher in NUS from 2016 to 2021, and taught as an associate researcher in 2023.

• Dr. Fan Zhong

      Dr. Fan Zhong received his B.S. degree in physics from Kuang Yaming Honors School of Nanjing University in 2013 and his Ph.D. degree in optical physics from Nanjing University in 2019. He joined the faculty of School of Physics in Southeast University in Sept. 2019.

• Dr. Zhenliang Hu

      Zhenliang Hu obtained his B.Sc. from Lanzhou university in 2015 and Ph.D. in physics from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2019. He joined Southeast university in 2020 as a postdoctoral fellow.

      1. Optoelectronic properties of low-dimensional materials
      2. On-chip integration of optoelectronic devices
      3. Electronic devices based on 2D materials

• Dr. Ting Zheng

      Dr. Ting Zheng received her doctorate from Southeast University in 2022 under the supervision of Professor Zhenhua Ni. She has been working as a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Physics at Southeast University since September 2022. To date, she has published more than 15 papers in well-known academic journals, including ACS Nano, Nano Letters, and ACS Photonics.
      Research:
      1. Investigating light-matter interactions in low-dimensional materials and their heterostructures through ultrafast dynamics
      2. Studying the photoluminescence mechanisms of low-dimensional materials and modulating their quantum efficiency

• Dr. Kaiyang Liu

      In 2023, Kaiyang Liu obtained his Ph.D. from the School of Physics at Southeast University. Since then, he has continued postdoctoral research at the same institution. His work aims to provide novel practices for next-generation optoelectronic detectors.
      Research:
      1. Optoelectronic detectors based on two-dimensional materials
      2. Lateral photovoltaic effect and transport dynamics of photogenerated carriers
      3. Design of novel optoelectronic devices for non-contact precise measurements including target position, angle, and polarization, and for high-efficiency, high-precision imaging and recognition
